My First Ristra

This is my first attempt at creating a ristra. The peppers could be tied a little tighter but this should still do the job in drying out my cayennes. Come the cold weather these will make a nice addition to my chili. Yum-OH!

Garden Pictures - July 4th, 2007

Yeah it only took a month to get 'em posted but here are some photos (click on photos for larger view) of our garden taken on the 4th of July.

This is the new fence I built around the garden to keep out the rabbits.

Vegetables starting to really come along after twenty-one days. Up to this point the weather had been pretty dry.

Shasta daisies in bloom. Click the image to get a better view.

Traditional Wave petunias. Despite the fact that everyone has these, I still like having the original Waves as part of the garden.

This is why I like the original waves. This flower box, on front of the garden shed, is more decorative than functional; however, the Waves are able to actually thrive in this small space. I just have to keep them watered with a little more frequency.

Every region has their native species. One of those for us is the golden finch. They are a joy to watch and bring a nice song to our backyard.

Operación Garden Splendor Revisited

Just a couple of quick snaps of the garden I took while eating my early Saturday morning breakfast. Operación Garden Splendor (as it was referred to in this previous post) is doing quite well.

The last picture is meant to highlight the new fence I put around the garden to keep the rabbits out. So far, so good and once I get the gate fixed, it may even allow humans in... We'll see.
